The origins of Anne & Max in Alkmaar
Owner Wobbe had the idea 12 years ago to create a living room in the city. He started his first branch in Haarlem. The 1nd branch has been established in Alkmaar. In those 2 years, Anne & Max has grown bigger and bigger. In 12, Anne & Max Alkmaar was sold as a franchise concept to Kevin & Prisca, a couple with a great passion for hospitality and good food & drinks.

Anne & Max is unique in Alkmaar
Anne & Max, or should we actually say Prisca & Kevin? Do Anne & Max exist in real life? “No,” says Prisca. ''The business plan is called Anne''. The owner wanted to radiate coziness and conviviality in his establishments and was looking for a person to do so, then he came up with Max, which he thought was a nice name for a coffee shop.
Eating almost 100% organic, responding to trends, listening carefully to the guests and keeping up with the times, that is what makes Anne & Max unique. They are slightly different from normal lunch places, you will not find a Dutch bouncer or croquette sandwich here. ''We think healthy and organic dishes are important, says Prisca. So something for everyone! You can go to Anne & Max for an apple pie with whipped cream and a cup of coffee, but also vegan cakes and drinks with plant-based milk.
And how does the guest notice that it is a living room? ''The different seating areas, the music and the accessibility of the employees give them this feeling. At Anne & Max the atmosphere is informal, the quality of the food is good and the service is fast.

Be surprised…
We ask Kevin and Prisca how they surprise their guests again and again. The heartbreak, as it is called on the menu, is a latte Macchiato with caramel, chocolate, whipped cream and pieces of shortcake. They really don't always pay attention to healthy and sugar-free. This drink is very tasty and people like to see it. The Chai latte is also popular, the taste is nice and the milk is poured in a slightly different way than other lunch places.

Especially during this time it is extra nice to bring Anne & Max into your home. For example, people can buy Chai coffee or tea at home in the Anne & Max shop, but not the dishes. They have come up with something for that, the meal boxes, especially for the living room feeling at home! The bakery is located in Castricum where all the cakes and meal boxes are made. There is a high-tea box, lunch box, drinks box, vegan box, birthday box and picnic box full of delicacies, which you can order via the website.
Celebrate autumn
The new dishes and drinks for the fall are still in the making, but they will probably be drinks with cinnamon and a warm syrup flavor. With Sinterklaas they often have coffee with whipped cream and gingerbread nuts. You can find the seasonal specials on the chalkboard.
