Located on the North Sea coast you will find Egmond aan Zee, a seaside resort in the municipality of Bergen. There is something to do here all year round. In the summer you can sunbathe on the beach, in the spring you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at a beach pavilion, in the autumn you can get a breath of fresh air. Getting a breath of fresh air on the beach is also highly recommended, especially in winter, wearing a thick coat and scarf and then enjoying a hot cup of chocolate milk at a cozy restaurant.

Nature

Number 1 is of course the beautiful beach of Egmond aan Zee, which is no less than 8 kilometers long! This is of course the perfect place for long walks. But this village also has a beautiful dune area, so you can spend hours strolling through the dunes or taking a beautiful cycling route.

Egmond aan Zee is a short fifteen-minute drive from Alkmaar and is easily accessible via the N512. From Alkmaar station there is a bus every half hour that takes you to the coastal town in about 20 minutes.

Sights

The 8 kilometer long beach is of course perfect for a good walk on the beach or just a day of sunbathing and swimming! After a long walk, relax at one of the many beach pavilions for a cooling drink.
The center of Egmond aan Zee offers a diverse range of nice shops, which are open all year round. You will also find good restaurants and cozy terraces here.
Bunker Museum Jansje Schong is located in a former German ammunition bunker in the dunes near Boulevard Noord. The museum consists of 2 small rooms with display cabinets with objects about everything that used to happen there. About the lives of the inhabitants of Egmond, the large-scale evacuation, the construction of the Atlantic Wall, the shelling of the sea strip by English and American fighters, about the resistance and the 1000 German soldiers who were stationed there.
The JCJ van Speijk lighthouse is a lighthouse on the North Sea coast near Egmond aan Zee. The JCJ van Speijktoren is one of the oldest active lighthouses in the Netherlands. The base of the lighthouse forms a tomb, which commemorates the lieutenant commander Jan van Speijk.
From mid-July to the end of August you will find a Ferris wheel of no less than 38 meters high in the parking lot on the boulevard of Egmond aan Zee! Every day from 11:00 AM to 22:00 PM you can enjoy the beautiful view of Egmond aan Zee and the coast.
