Noord-Scharwoude is a village located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard. The kingdom of a thousand islands, this was the nickname of the villages of Broek op Langedijk, Zuid-Scharwoude and Noord-Scharwoude. Increasing fertility was an important reason to create an archipelago of fields.

The St. John the Baptist Church is a Roman Catholic church from 1906 and is also a national monument. Designed by architect Peter Bekkers.
The bronze monument De Stier is located on Louise de Colignystraat. This monument commemorates the twenty-six people who died during the Second World War due to war violence in the municipality of Langedijk. Not only are these twenty-six people commemorated, the East Indies and Korean fighters are also commemorated.
