Noord-Scharwoude is a village located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard. The kingdom of a thousand islands, this was the nickname of the villages of Broek op Langedijk, Zuid-Scharwoude and Noord-Scharwoude. Increasing fertility was an important reason to create an archipelago of fields.

You will find the Geestmerambacht recreation area an 8-minute drive away. The Geestmerambacht has a large lake where there is a lot of swimming and water sports in the summer and is surrounded by meadows and forests. The area is approximately 200 hectares with various walking and cycling paths.

The St. John the Baptist Church is a Roman Catholic church from 1906 and is also a national monument. Designed by architect Peter Bekkers.
The bronze monument De Stier is located on Louise de Colignystraat. This monument commemorates the twenty-six people who died during the Second World War due to war violence in the municipality of Langedijk. Not only are these twenty-six people commemorated, the East Indies and Korean fighters are also commemorated.
The Duikerdel swimming pool is a great fun pool for young and old. Here you will find a large competition pool for swimming laps, a recreational pool for the children, and a paddling pool for the little ones.
